The majority of players were French and Moroccan and with a €550 buy-in and 50,000 starting chips, the tournament certainly lived up to its reputation - top class poker action was witnessed by all. The DSO Marrakech officially kick started the Chilipoker Marrakech Festival, a ten day poker festival which ultimately ends with the renowned WPT Marrakech by Chilipoker. It took more than 20 hours of game to finally know the names of the 60 players who would leave the Casino with at least twice the amount of their buy-in. All players used their best poker skills to try and pocket the amazing €40,000 prize.

The final table started on Monday and among the nine finalists there was Roger Hairabedian (France) who over the course of the tournament proved to be a real icon at the Casino de Marrakech. Roger started the final shortstack alongside three other French players: Othman Bengellou and French poker journalists Ronan Monfort and Kévin Noblat. Jason Herbert (UK), Bennis Najib (Morocco), Henrik Granlund (Sweden), Fouad El Mouhajir (Morocco) and Mauro Biancifiori (Italy) were the other five finalists.

After four intense hours of exceptional poker, Henrik Granlund finally won the last hand against runner up Jason Herbert by hitting two pairs on the flop with his J-10, thus beating his opponent and his top pair.

The DeepStack Open is a 3 day tournament with over 500 players. The ‘DeepStack’ concept for the same buy-in allows players to start the tournaments with five times more chips than a classic casino tournament. Players can play more hands, see more cards and play a DeepStack Open event with the guarantee of enjoying a fabulous poker weekend – whether you’re a rookie or a pro.

It has been copied many times, however has never succeeded until now! The DeepStack Open has revolutionized European poker! The DSO tournaments are the only events providing a comfortable 3 day poker game for a low buy-in in fantastic destinations such as Paris, Vienna, Marrakech, Cannes, Malta and the Costa Brava. Our DeepStack tournament has kept its unique structure of regular blind increases to ensure non-stop action but with enough time to pass bad cards. To add even more fun to the game, the sponsor gives players the opportunity to win iPads, Laptops, Bose Headsets and buy-ins to other DSO events – keeping the DeepStack Open a fun and friendly tournament.
